Prevention – Managerial level checklist

1. Managers/leaders help employees identify with the organisation, by connecting personal goals with organisation’s success (for example, by helping a certain project to be completed, an employee’s personal goal about producing something significant is likewise achieved)

2. At least once a year, managers/leaders talk to their team members to learn more about their interests and goals in relation to the work

3. Each team member’s role is clearly defined in writing

4. Each team member’s responsibilities are clearly defined in writing (responsibilities are concrete tasks and duties)

5. Each team member’s expectations are clearly defined in writing

6. Managers/leaders make access to clear definitions of team member’s role, responsibilities and expectations easy

7. Managers/leaders know how to give feedback in a positive and supportive way

8. Managers/leaders encourage and support teamwork and helping behaviors 

9. Managers/leaders follow clear policies about work hours, overtime, and workload distribution to avoid ambiguity and overworking

10. Managers/leaders encourage employees to take regular breaks and avoid working through lunch or other breaks

11. Managers/leaders address workload imbalances by redistributing tasks or hiring additional staff
